Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) imitation crab sticks, sliced into 1-inch rounds
- 3 tbsp (42g) unsalted butter
- 3 cloves (9g) garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup (60ml) yellow onion, finely diced
- 1 tbsp (15ml) lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1g) black pepper
- 1 tbsp (4g) fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp (5g) lemon zest
Instructions:
- Slice the imitation crab sticks into uniform 1-inch pieces. Mince the garlic and finely dice the onion.
- Place a skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and melt until it begins to bubble. Stir in the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 3–5 minutes until onions are translucent and garlic is fragrant.
- Increase heat to medium-high. Add the crab stick rounds in a single layer and sear undisturbed for 2 minutes until mahogany-colored. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Stir in the salt, pepper, and lemon juice, tossing until the sauce becomes a glossy glaze. Remove from heat immediately.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon zest while the crab is still hot.
