Ingredients:

  • 8 oz lump crab meat, drained well
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 thick slices sourdough bread
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth. Fold in the lemon juice and Old Bay seasoning. Gently fold in the lump crab meat and parsley using a spatula, ensuring the crab chunks remain intact.
  2. Preheat the broiler to high. Spread a generous layer of softened butter on one side of each sourdough slice. Place the bread butter-side down on a baking sheet and broil for 60 seconds to set the bottom crust.
  3. Remove the bread from the oven and flip it over. Spoon the crab mixture evenly across each slice, spreading to the edges. Top with a generous handful of shredded cheddar.
  4. Return to the oven and broil for 2–3 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the edges of the bread are deep golden brown.
