Ingredients:
- 8 oz lump crab meat, drained well
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 tsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 2 thick slices sourdough bread
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions:
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth. Fold in the lemon juice and Old Bay seasoning. Gently fold in the lump crab meat and parsley using a spatula, ensuring the crab chunks remain intact.
- Preheat the broiler to high. Spread a generous layer of softened butter on one side of each sourdough slice. Place the bread butter-side down on a baking sheet and broil for 60 seconds to set the bottom crust.
- Remove the bread from the oven and flip it over. Spoon the crab mixture evenly across each slice, spreading to the edges. Top with a generous handful of shredded cheddar.
- Return to the oven and broil for 2–3 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the edges of the bread are deep golden brown.
