Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and hot
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the hot melted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar. Whisk vigorously for 1 minute to begin dissolving the sugar.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture. Whisk for another 2 minutes until the batter lightens in color and reaches a ribbony consistency.
- Stir in the sifted cocoa powder until the mixture is dark, glossy, and fully incorporated.
- Using a silicone spatula, gently fold in the all-purpose flour and sea salt until just a few streaks of white remain. Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and level the top. Bake for 22–25 minutes. Remove from the oven when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
