Ingredients:
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup ghee
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup condensed milk
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 pinch saffron strands
- 1 tbsp warm milk
- 1 tbsp slivered almonds
Instructions:
- Heat the ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat until melted and shimmering.
- Add the almond flour and sauté for 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly until the flour turns a pale golden color and releases a toasted, nutty aroma.
- Slowly pour in the whole milk while whisking continuously to ensure no lumps form.
- Stir in the condensed milk to increase creaminess.
- Lower the heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens and begins to move away from the sides of the pan.
- Stir in the sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron strands soaked in 1 tablespoon of warm milk.
- Continue cooking for another 5-8 minutes until the halwa achieves a glossy sheen and reaches a soft ball consistency.
- Garnish with slivered almonds before serving.
